But getting to see some of these buildings in real life gives you a different feeling and perspective, and that’s why I’m so thankful for having a professor like Patricia giving me the chance to see them not only through a lecture in a classroom. During this visit we got to see a handful of important buildings in València dating back to different eras, giving me and my classmates a personal relation to them.»

«I had the chance as one of Patricia’s students to participate in a fieldtrip of hers: “A modernist walk around Valencia”. Her guided visit was just as pleasant as the atmosphere, being that I was with the rest of my classmates. It was schoolwork, so we were being taught a lot, but the pleasantries (and food breaks!!!) made the experience so much more inviting. I now play the guide when friends come to visit. Often, surprising myself for even knowing so much about Mercat de Colon for example. That’s the magic of these activities, you learn not only so much about what you are intended to but also naturally pick up on terms and culture as you are not in the often stressful environment of a classroom.»
